There are a few recipes that are an absolute must have during the fall season. I love pumpkin, but my favorite go to are the candied pecan recipe. It is so easy to mix together and just bake.

I use the candied pecans on top of salads and seasonal veggies such as sweet potatoes and squash. I eat as many as I desire. This is also a great quick snack to grab on the go. The added sugar may not be the healthiest, but I focus on the nutrition I get from the pecans.

These pecans also make excellent gifts. I consider them “gourmet.” I bag them up with an adorable bow and then you have a quick easy gift made with love.

Thus, this recipe doesn’t last long,so I prefer to make a double batch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb pecans
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees and lay parchment sheet on a large cookie sheet.
  2. Mix together egg white, water and vanilla extract add the sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Pour in pecans and thoroughly coat with mixture. Using your hands will be the best was to ensure every pecan is evenly covered.
  4. Spread pecans out on a lined cookie tray evenly.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes. Take pecans out of oven and flip around to ensure they aren’t all sticking to one another.
  6. Repeat step 5 three more times, for a total of a hour.
  7. Pull out and let cool, then enjoy!

After making this candied pecan recipe at home you will never buy store bought candied pecans again! I can promise you that.

There are more possibilities and variations to this candied pecan recipe. You can always add different seasonings and zests such as orange, or kick it up with some salt.

This is my take on on the classic candied pecans. I hope you enjoy and share with your loved ones during the holiday season!
